The photo exhibition, It’s destiny: India by the Puertorican philosopher and photographer Ivette Fred-Rivera was presented from April to September 2010 at the Museum of History, Anthropology and Art at the Río Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. It was curated by Mrs. Flavia Marichal, the Museum Chair. The exhibition was sponsored by a FIPI 2009-11 Scholarship (Institutional Fund for Research) that the Río Piedras Campus granted to meet the internationalization goals of the University of Puerto Rico system.

“The theme of the exhibition is life as a journey that is enriched, dramatically, by exposing oneself to the uncomfortably distant and the unfamiliar”, Dr. Fred-Rivera says.

Ivette Fred-Rivera is a philosopher, photographer, art critic and professor of Philosophy and Art in the Department of Humanities at the Faculty of General Studies and in the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. She has published works on philosophy and art locally and internationally. Dr. Fred-Rivera is Education Coordinator of the Puerto Rico Museum of Contemporary Art.
